
David Smith is a founding partner at Redwood Park Advisors. He is responsible for investment research and analysis, asset allocation, and portfolio management. He has worked as a senior investment analyst at a $4.5 billion hedge fund and $7.0 billion Bay Area pension fund where he specialized in fixed income and equity investments. Prior to returning to investment management in 2012 he was a vice president of investment banking for a regional broker-dealer focused on municipal investment banking. During his six years as a municipal investment banker David, helped cities, schools, 501(c)(3) heath care systems, and water and power agencies finance and refund capital projects totaling more than $10 billion in face value securities as senior manager, co-manager, or financial advisor.
David received a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from San Diego State University where he currently serves as a mentor for graduating seniors. David also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst ("CFA") and is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco where he previously served on the continuing education committee. In his free time he enjoys golfing, skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with his family and friends.
